We know that navigating abuse within the home, especially when it involves child-to-parent abuse can feel incredibly isolating. That’s why we’re passionate about sharing one of the organisations who are doing vital and often life changing work across the UK to support individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.

This month, our Service Shoutout goes to the brilliant team at FearFree.

Who are FearFree?

Based in the South West, FearFree is a forward thinking charity offering practical, emotional and trauma-informed support to adults, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse, sexual abuse and stalking. Their approach is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to live a life free from fear, something that resonates deeply with us here at PEGS.

FearFree’s services cover everything from crisis intervention to longer-term recovery support and they work not only with victims and survivors, but with whole families: including those using harmful behaviours to build safer futures.

What makes FearFree stand out?

One of the things we love about FearFree is their holistic approach. They know that every family situation is different and that no single pathway fits all. Whether someone needs a safe place to stay, support in the courtroom or simply someone to listen without judgment, FearFree meets them where they are.

They’re also champions of early intervention and prevention, something we value highly in our own work. Through community outreach, education and partnership working, they help raise awareness of abuse and reduce the stigma, making it easier for people to speak up and seek help.
