Croeso - A New Chapter for PEGS!
A New Chapter for PEGS!
We’re really pleased to share that PEGS is now a member of Social Firms Wales!
This feels like a meaningful and natural step for us as an organisation, one that reflects both how far we’ve come and how we continue to grow awareness and understanding of Child to Parent Abuse (CPA) across Wales and the wider UK.
Most importantly, it strengthens what we are here to do every day: support parents and carers impacted by CPA, and help more families access understanding, compassion, and support when they need it most.
Why do we exist?
Child to Parent Abuse is still widely misunderstood. For many parents, carers and guardians it can feel incredibly difficult to find the right support. We hear time and time again the emotional weight that comes with these experiences… fear, shame, confusion, isolation and a significant impact on both mental and physical wellbeing. Often, all of this exists alongside uncertainty about where to turn for support.
That’s why PEGS exists.
To support parental figures.
To listen without judgement.
And to walk alongside families who are navigating this complex and often hidden form of domestic abuse.
Supporting families across Wales
We work with many parents and carers across the UK, including a growing number of families reaching out to us from Wales.
Our approach is simple but important: accessible, compassionate support rooted in lived experience and real understanding.
For many parents, reaching out for support with CPA is a huge step. Having a space where they feel believed, heard and not judged can make a real difference to how supported they feel moving forward.
Through our membership with Social Firms Wales, we are strengthening our presence within Welsh communities and improving access to support for those impacted by CPA - which helps us to:
- Raise awareness of Child to Parent Abuse and its impact in Wales
- Connect with professionals and organisations supporting families
- Improve access to specialist CPA support services
- Ensure more families know they are not alone
Being part of something bigger
Social Firms Wales brings together organisations committed to social impact, inclusion, and community-led change.
For PEGS, this partnership strengthens our ability to advocate for families experiencing child to parent abuse in Wales and the wider UK, ensuring lived experience remains at the centre of support and our awareness.
It also helps us reach more parents who may be searching for CPA support in Wales but are unsure where to turn.
A word from Michelle
Michelle, Founder of PEGS, shares:
“PEGS Support came from lived experience, from a time where I felt completely alone and didn’t know where to turn for help with child to parent abuse. It’s something many parents don’t feel able to talk about, and because of that, they often suffer in silence.
What we’ve built is the kind of support I wish had existed, a safe space for parents and carers to talk openly, be believed, and receive real understanding without judgement.
Joining Social Firms Wales is an important step because it strengthens our ability to reach more families across Wales who may be looking for child to parent abuse support. It means we can continue to grow awareness and ensure more parents know that help is available.”
Looking ahead...
As we continue to grow as an organisation, our focus remains clear: providing Child to Parent Abuse support across Wales and the UK that is compassionate, accessible and non judgemental.
Being part of Social Firms Wales helps us strengthen our reach, build meaningful partnerships, and ensure more families can find the support they are looking for when experiencing CPA.
Most importantly, it allows us to keep doing what matters most:
standing alongside parents, carers and guardians so they don’t have to face this journey alone.
