Service Shoutout: DASU North Wales
This month, our service shoutout is: DASU (Domestic Abuse Safety Unit) North Wales - a long-standing, specialist service supporting people across North Wales who are experiencing domestic abuse.
DASU provides free and confidential support to adults and their children who are impacted by abuse from a partner, ex-partner, or other family member. Their work is built on compassion, safety, and choice - helping families to understand what is happening, explore their options, and access support in a way that feels right for them.
“DASU exists for anyone who has experienced domestic abuse. We believe that no one should be discriminated against by reason of their race, religion, beliefs, nationality, sexual orientation, gender reassignment , age, disability, marriage and civil partnerships. pregnancy or maternity. We operate in line with the Equality Act 2010, and promote an inclusive service for both service users and staff. Our approach to diversity is simple: it’s about embracing everyone. “
Their support includes a wide range of services such as:
- Crisis intervention and emotional support
- Personal safety planning
- Advocacy and practical support
