March at PEGS
March at PEGS
March is a busy and exciting month at PEGS. Alongside our regular weekly support sessions, we have specialist training, wellbeing spaces, professional information sessions, and of course it’s our 6th Birthday Celebration!
Whether you’re a parent, carer, guardian, or professional, there are many opportunities available for you to connect with us or to find out more about what we are up to.
One to-one-support
Our team of highly skilled practitioners offers daily support to parental figures experiencing Child to Parent Abuse. Each session is tailored to the individual, providing a safe space to be heard, as well as practical and emotional support, advocacy, risk assessments, and safety planning. Parental figures can access up to 12 weeks of one-to-one support, depending on their area and individual circumstances and if they wish to engage at this level.
In addition to one-to-one support, parental figures can also access the services listed below. Even if one-to-one support isn’t available or suitable, these resources remain free and open to provide guidance, connection, and support.
Weekly Practitioner Led Sessions
Our practitioner-led sessions run every week at various times and provide a safe, confidential space for parental figures experiencing CPA. These sessions are led by our fantastic team of trained practitioners who understand the complexities of CPA.
Weekly session times include (these can vary):
- Monday: 12pm to 1pm & our new practitioner led session for parents with adult children which is at 3:30pm - 4:30pm.
- Tuesday: 11am to 12pm & 7pm to 8pm
- Wednesday: 10am to 11am
- Thursday: 1:30pm to 2:30pm, Thursday 8pm to 9pm
- Friday: Fridays 10am to 11am.
These spaces are designed to provide practical and emotional support, reduce isolation and remind parents and carers that they are not alone in their journey. These are group sessions and the element of peer support is often appreciated by those who attend. In fact 100% of parental figures who attended our practitioner led sessions said their wellbeing had improved by attending a session. Parental figures can attend one session or all of them (if they apply) , they can stay for the whole hour or just for as long as they can. There is no pressure to speak or to share their experiences and situations, although saying hello when parents first join is always welcomed. For us to keep these sessions as safe as possible and to follow our safeguarding processes, parental figures must have an active referral with PEGS to access these sessions.
Wellbeing Session,
4th March
Join our fantastic practitioner for a dedicated wellbeing session. These sessions are delivered on the first Wednesday of the month and focus on emotional regulation, grounding, and creating small moments of calm in what can often feel like overwhelming circumstances. Or as one of the PEGS team says finding the small glimmers where we can.
With each session having a different focus there is an opportunity to learn a new technique or wellbeing technique to help you look after you, as you matter too.
Professional Information Session
2nd March | 10:00am – 10:30am
We are also delivering our free monthly information session for professionals on PEGS, our referral pathway, services we provide and expectations.
