Employee Appreciation Day
Our Founding Director thanks the PEGS team
Dear Team,
Today is Employee Appreciation Day, but really, this is about so much more than a date in the calendar. It’s about you, the people who make PEGS what it is.
Our values of Listen, Support and Empower aren’t just words we share with parental figures. They are lived out every single day within our team. You listen to one another, you support each other through challenges, and you empower those around you to grow, learn, and feel confident in what they do. That matters more than you may realise.
Each of you plays a different role, but every role is essential to our team, our work, and most importantly to those who need us. I often talk about how our team is like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. PEGS simply wouldn’t be the same if even one piece was missing. Whether your work is visible every day or happens quietly behind the scenes, it all connects and it all counts. PEGS works because you work together.
The care, compassion, and respect you show to our parents is mirrored in the way you treat each other. You create a culture where people feel safe to speak up, supported when things are tough, and encouraged to be their best. You also take the time to notice and celebrate each other’s wins no matter how big or small because you understand that progress, effort, and growth all deserve recognition. That culture doesn’t happen by accident; it’s built by the people in it.
I want you to know how incredibly proud I am of every single one of you. Not just for what you do, but for who you are. Your dedication, honesty, compassion, and teamwork inspire me daily. You continue to challenge me, support me, and help me grow not only as a leader, but as a person. For that, I am deeply grateful.
PEGS is strong because of you. Because of your hearts, your commitment, and your willingness to listen, support, and empower, both each other and the parental figures we stand alongside. I hope today gives you a moment to pause and recognise the difference you make, and how valued you truly are.
Whether this makes you shy away from the recognition or step up and truly own the incredible person you are, please know this: I am so, so proud of you all, and I would have been so thankful to have had any one of you support me and my family in our time of need.
We celebrate each other every day, but today is also about you recognising just how appreciated you truly are.
Thank you for being part of our team, for helping not only me, but each other to be the best version of themselves so we can show up every day in the way those who experience child to parent abuse need.
Michelle
