A Day In The Life At PEGS: HR
A Day in the Life at PEGS: Human Resources
At PEGS, people are at the heart of everything we do, and in HR you see that up close every single day. My day-to-day isn’t just policies and paperwork (although yes, there’s some of that!). It’s conversations, check-ins, problem-solving, planning training, supporting managers, and sometimes just being a steady presence when someone needs clarity or reassurance. That human side is what makes the role meaningful.
Part of my role also involves being a first point of contact for parents and professionals who are considering a referral. I often speak to them before anything formal is submitted, answering questions, explaining what we do, and helping them understand whether PEGS is the right fit. I really value those conversations, they’re an opportunity to offer reassurance, provide clarity, and ensure people feel informed and supported from the very beginning.
Staff wellbeing is something I care about deeply. When people feel supported, listened to, and valued, they do their best work, and more importantly, they feel good doing it. That doesn’t happen by accident. It takes thoughtful processes, strong communication, and meaningful training to give people the confidence and skills to thrive.
For me, this role is about building something sustainable: a workplace where staff, parents, and professionals alike feel empowered, supported, and proud to be part of PEGS.
Creating a workplace where staff feel heard, empowered, and confident helps us provide the best possible support to parents and carers who rely on us. 💜
