An Exciting New Chapter for PEGS!
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve been able to open an exciting new role at PEGS: Volunteer Programme Lead & Training Facilitator - thanks to the incredible support of the National Lottery Community Fund.
The role will focus on two key areas: developing a structured and supportive volunteer programme, and delivering CPD-accredited training to both volunteers and external professionals. This means we’ll be able to reach even more families affected by Child to Parent Abuse (CPA), and continue to build a confident and informed network of professionals working across the UK.
We’re so grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for making this growth possible. This support helps us strengthen our service and continue working towards a future where no parent or carer feels alone in what they’re experiencing.

Organisation: PEGS (Parental Education Growth Support)
Location: Shrewsbury - primarily office based and occasional traveling
Salary: £13.50 per hour increasing to £14.50 per hour after probation
Hours: 25 hours per week
Contract Type:
Fixed-term until July 2028 (Funded by The National Lottery)

Role Overview
Are you a confident trainer, strong communicator, and natural leader? Do you have a passion for working with volunteers and driving change through education and engagement?
We’re looking for someone to develop and lead our volunteer programme, and deliver high-quality CPD-accredited training to professionals and volunteers across sectors including education, health, and social care.
You’ll work closely with our Director, Service Manager and practitioners, and help shape how PEGS expands its reach and impact through volunteer involvement and knowledge sharing.

Designing and delivering CPD-accredited training to both volunteers and external professionals across the UK
You’ll work closely with the Director, Service Manager and Practitioners, and play a vital part in shaping how PEGS grows and supports others through training and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Programme
- Develop volunteer roles, contracts and a comprehensive volunteer framework
- Organise recruitment events and volunteer induction sessions
- Create and manage rotas and ongoing communication with volunteers
- Provide regular support, supervision and recognition
- Maintain records, feedback forms and evaluations
- Update and manage the Volunteer Handbook and related documents
Training Delivery
- Design and deliver training sessions for professionals and volunteers
- Keep content aligned with CPD standards and PEGS’ values
- Tailor materials to different audiences and sectors (e.g., social care, education)
- Update resources based on feedback and emerging needs
- Support and deliver conferences, online workshops and regional events
What you bring:
- Experience delivering training, in-person and online, including to large group of people from diverse backgrounds and different learning styles
- Experience managing and supporting staff in a structured way
- Strong communication and public speaking skills, you captivate the crowds and keep them engaged
- Experience creating/updating training materials, which are engaging and adapted to your audience
Bonus if You Also Have:
- Understanding of the charity/third sector
- Worked with volunteers or volunteered yourself
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel required)
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice
- Experience with safeguarding and lived experience inclusion
