If you’re hosting an event which requires a speaker on Child to Parent Abuse, then there are few people more highly regarded in the UK than our very own Michelle John.

As Founding Director of PEGS, Michelle has amassed a wealth of knowledge over the past five years, putting her in a position where she’s called upon by everyone from Government departments to producers of national television shows to share her expertise.

Michelle has limited availability due to the demands of leading our social enterprise, which sees her overseeing our parental support and professional training alongside consulting with organisations across the UK and abroad on the topic of CPA. But if you’re able to secure her at your event, then your attendees will be able to hear her talk about the latest research, best practice examples and anonymous case studies – alongside how we can better support parents, carers and guardians going forward.

Given her success in launching and growing PEGS, Michelle is also available to speak about founding a social enterprise and running an organisation having done everything from advising the Home Office on Domestic Abuse Act statutory guidance, to helping shape storylines for BBC’s EastEnders and Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.

Some points to note:

• Michelle is happy to share that she launched PEGS based on her own lived experience of CPA and the lack of support she uncovered for parents, but does not publicly discuss the details of her own situation.

• Speaking topics can be tailored to suit your event, please specify whether you’d like a broad overview of CPA, a speech on a specific topic (such as safeguarding or experiences of those with adult offspring) or relating to a sector such as social care, education, emergency services or healthcare.

• PEGS does not directly support children, so any information shared will be specific to the experiences of parental figures – we do however work closely with organisations who specialise in child-led support, who we can signpost you to in addition.

• The team is always happy to share pictures and information about events Michelle has attended across our website and social media, so do let us know about any restrictions such as attendees who do not wish to appear in photos. If your event is open to the public, then we’d also be pleased to share details in advance to encourage attendance.
