A Day in My Life as Training Administrator at PEGS
People often assume admin is just sitting at a desk, answering emails, and filing paperwork. But working at PEGS is so much more than that. PEGS is honestly a brilliant team to be a part of, the work being done here every single day genuinely changes lives, and the impact the team has on families living with Child to Parent Abuse (CPA) is huge. Being able to play a part in that mission makes this job incredibly special.
My main focus day-to-day is keeping the training side of PEGS running smoothly from an administrative point of view, working right alongside Laura, our Training Lead. Training is such a core part of what PEGS does, because educating professionals, whether they work in social care, education, police forces, or local authorities is how we start shifting people's knowledge around CPA.
A massive part of my job is being the person behind the scenes making sure all of that actually works without any worries. I spend a lot of my time liaising directly with professionals who are booking onto our sessions, setting up training links, sorting out the logistics, and making sure everyone gets their training documents, handouts, and essential resources before and after they partake in training.
Once a session is wrapped up, I’m the one creating and sending out all the certificates to everyone who attended. So, if you’ve ever sat through a PEGS training session, chances are very high that it was me sitting at my keyboard sending over your documents, follow-up info, and certificates afterwards!
What I love most about PEGS is how supportive the environment is and how everyone just gets stuck in, and I get to help out across so many different areas of PEGS, One minute I might be putting together a new informational booklet or designing a flyer for a upcoming event, and the next, I might be helping Cam out with a media or pulling together a fresh support document for parents who need guidance.
I’ve even had the incredible privilege of attending Parliament alongside Laura (our Training Lead), which is definitely not something you expect when you sign up for an admin role! It just goes to show how passionate everyone at PEGS is about making real, structural change at the highest levels.
CPA is still such a misunderstood issue, and so many parents face massive, judgment, and isolation when they're going through it. That’s why the work PEGS does is so vital. We aren't just delivering training for the sake of it, we are giving professionals the tools to respond with empathy and trauma-informed support instead of blame.
Knowing that the admin work I do every day, from sending out a simple handout to supporting and coordinating training events directly supports that bigger picture makes this job so rewarding. I'm really proud to work for an organisation that stands up for families, and I couldn't ask for a better team to be doing it with.
