Media guidance: reporting on CPA

Harriet Ernstsons-Evans • May 07, 2022

Reporting on emotive topics such as Child to Parent Abuse can be tricky - but at PEGS we believe this shouldn't put media organisations off doing so. Since launching the organisation, we've worked alongside many regional and national television programmes, radio stations, newspapers, magazines, blogs and podcasts - as we believe this is a key way to raise awareness of CPA among parents, professionals and the general population.

Especially for media outlets who may not have covered CPA before, we know there can be many different questions and considerations before the piece goes live - and that's why we've produced a short guide for any media outlets looking to cover CPA in a respectful, sensitive and responsible manner.

You can download the general guidance by clicking the button below.

Please note, we are more than happy to liaise directly with the media about stories on CPA, any specific questions, or to assist in finding parents willing to share their story anonymously. You can also request interviews, filming time, or quotes from our Founding Director Michelle John.
