Soap Storylines and TV coverage

PEGS has supported and contributed to national conversations around Child to Parent Abuse through television storylines and broadcast coverage. By working with programme teams and media outlets, PEGS helps ensure CPA is represented with sensitivity, accuracy and an understanding of the real experiences faced by parents, carers and guardians.

EastEnders Child to Parent Abuse storyline

EastEnders worked closely with Family Based Solutions, PEGS and other experts in the field to help ensure its Child to Parent Abuse storyline was portrayed as accurately and sensitively as possible. NSPCC also consulted on wider aspects of the storyline.

Supporting Channel 4’s Hollyoaks CPA storyline

PEGS was consulted on a Channel 4 Hollyoaks storyline exploring what happens when a character becomes resentful of his father and begins to physically abuse him.

The storyline helped raise awareness of Child to Parent Abuse and the need for earlier intervention, support and understanding.
