16 Days of Activism: Every Voice Matters, Every Workplace Can Make a Difference

25 November – 10 December 2026

This November, PEGS will be joining the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, running from the 25th of November to the 10th of December. This year’s theme is Ensure justice, protect survivors, end impunity.

This 16 Days of Activism, we want to turn awareness into action.

We have two exciting initiatives taking shape… and we would love you to be part of them.

1. Sixteen days. One commitment.

Sometimes, the most powerful way to create change is to start by listening to the people who are experiencing it.

Throughout the 16 Days of Activism, we will be sharing a collection of drawn hands, each carrying a message, a pledge, a personal reflection or a commitment to change.

Every hand represents a voice. Together, they will create a growing visual reminder that supporting those impacted cannot be the responsibility of one person, one organisation or one profession alone.

We want to hear from parents, carers and guardians, professionals, practitioners, employers, organisations, community groups and anyone who wants to stand alongside those impacted by abuse.

What would you like people to understand?

What needs to change?

What commitment are you willing to make?

Your hand could feature a single word, a message of support, a personal pledge, a quote, a piece of artwork or a statement about what you believe needs to happen next.

Perhaps your message is about listening without judgement. Perhaps it is about challenging the stigma surrounding abuse. Or perhaps it is a commitment to making sure that someone experiencing abuse knows where to turn for support.

There is no right or wrong way to take part. Your contribution does not need to be elaborate or perfectly designed. What matters is the message behind it.

We want this campaign to reflect a wide range of voices and perspectives, bringing together different experiences, roles and opportunities to make a difference.

Throughout the 16 days, we will share these contributions across our social media platforms, creating a collective display of the voices calling for greater awareness, understanding and action.

How can you get involved?

  1. Draw around your hand or create a hand in whichever way works for you.

  2. Add your message, pledge, quote, word or commitment.

  3. Include your name or organisation if you are happy for this to be shared. Organisations are also welcome to include their logo.

  4. Visit our padlet to view examples and upload your design here

Whether you are taking part as an individual, with colleagues or as an organisation, we would love to hear from you.

One hand might carry one message. Many hands can help show the scale of the commitment to change.

2. 16 Days and 16 Employers: bringing change into the workplace

There is another part of life where the impact of Child to Parent Abuse can remain hidden: the workplace.

Could someone you work with be experiencing Child to Parent Abuse?

They might be the colleague who may find it hard to concentrate after a difficult night at home. The employee who regularly needs time away from work to manage a crisis. The volunteer who is trying to keep everything going while carrying an enormous amount of worry.

You may never know what someone is experiencing outside working hours.

And that is precisely why workplace understanding matters.

CPA can impact a person's wellbeing, finances, confidence, attendance and working life. Yet, without awareness and appropriate support, employees and volunteers may feel unable to explain what is happening or reach out for support.

They may worry about being judged. They may fear that others will misunderstand their child or question their parenting. They may simply feel that nobody in their workplace would understand.

We as a team know that the impact of CPA does not stop at the front door. It can follow a parental figure into every part of their life, including the place where they work. That is why we developed the PEGS Employer Covenant (CPAC).

As our Founder, Michelle John MBE, explains:

“With so many parents telling us how their work was being impacted due to their child’s behaviour, we wanted to change this for them and decided to create an employers scheme to help employers to help their employees and volunteers. Having the support from the DWP to create the covenant has been incredible.”

The covenant was developed to help employers better understand CPA and consider how they can support employees and volunteers who may be impacted by CPA. It is also backed by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

This 16 Days of Activism, we are inviting 16 employers from across the UK to join us.

Sixteen organisations willing to take a step towards better understanding. Sixteen workplaces with an opportunity to build awareness, review their approach and help create an environment where people feel more able to reach out for support. Creating change does not always begin with a major policy announcement. Sometimes, it begins with a conversation, a member of staff who understands, or a workplace that recognises that abuse can impact people in ways that are not immediately visible.

What does joining the covenant mean for your organisation?

The PEGS Employer Covenant is free to sign up to. Employers who join can access free training, resources and support to help them develop their understanding of CPA and consider how their workplace policies and HR practices can better support those who may be impacted. It is an opportunity to move beyond simply knowing that CPA exists and start thinking about what that understanding means in practice.

How confident would your managers feel responding to an employee who disclosed what was happening at home?

Would your organisation know where to find appropriate information and support?

Could your policies and workplace practices better recognise the challenges an employee or volunteer might be experiencing?

These are important questions, and employers do not need to have all the answers before taking the first step.

By joining CPAC, your organisation can begin building the knowledge and awareness needed to respond more thoughtfully and consider how it can make a difference.

Could your workplace be one of our 16 employers this 16 Days of Activism?
